This park is pretty huge, with 1333 acres of land. It has a large 118-acre artificial lake, prairie areas, oak savannas, and breathtaking views of the valley. With 15 miles of trails, several hills, and a stream, you have many options!

Oxbow Park

Located in Byron, Oxbow Park spreads over 624 acres of hills covered by forest and prairie. In the forest, there are a few wooden observation decks with a nice view that could be interesting. I especially love the forest in early June when all the ferns bloom.
There is also the adjacent Zollman Zoo. You might consider this place if your beloved is a volunteer at the zoo or has a special connection to the animals. Otherwise, it’s not necessarily the best place since it can be crowded on weekends!

Whitewater State Park
