ENGAGEMENT SESSION

The engagement session is your first real experience and should help you feel comfortable in front of my camera as I capture your emotions.

Such a session reassures you and your family about your choice of photographer.

×

THE BRIDE PREPARATION

I first take detailed pictures of your dress, your bouquet, the engagement ring on your invitation, your bridesmaids’ robes and bouquets, and all other accessories. Then I capture the excitement in the air. Those are intense images, where you are surrounded by your best friends and your family. Thus, it offers moments of emotion to begin your story.

×

THE GROOM PREPARATION

Groom preparation pictures are also interesting, real moments of him dressing surrounded by his family and best friends.

Given that most of the decisions about the wedding ceremony (vendors, bouquet, outfits, etc.) have usually been made by his wife-to-be, the groom has few duties left, and just needs to relax and have fun with his groomsmen.

×

THE CEREMONY

Having your union celebrated at the City Hall might sound to some misinformed people like an appointment for boring paperwork. It’s actually not! Wedding ceremonies tied by an eloquent officiant (usually a judge) breathe life into what is usually a pretty conventional ritual.

What’s more, some city halls can be a real piece of art (such as Saint Paul), offering an amazing background for your image.

COURTHOUSE

Having your union celebrated at the City Hall might sound to some misinformed people like an appointment for boring paperwork. It’s actually not! Wedding ceremonies tied by an eloquent officiant (usually a judge) breathe life into what is usually a pretty conventional ritual.

What’s more, some city halls can be real works of art (such as Saint Paul’s), offering a fantastic backdrop for your image.

×

THE GROUP WEDDING PICTURES

They are part of the formals you have to accomplish, and it’s quite impossible to avoid them. It’s usually before or after the ceremony that families pose in front of my camera. I like to do more than the usual boring pictures by creating sophisticated images that look like paintings. I pay attention especially to the composition and the lighting. Those group portraits are a real gift to print and cherish over time, and thus represent valuable memories.

×

UNPOSED AND CANDID SHOTS

This is a collection I am especially proud of, and one that only a few photographers can showcase. Indeed, if most vendors can capture clean portraits and nice details during the bride’s makeup, it’s way more difficult to capture raw emotions and authentic moments that reflect your personality.

To capture those candid and informal images, I need to be constantly alert, always having one camera ready to shoot as soon as I hear laughter. Those are the kind of images that make the difference and that you won’t find in every wedding album.

×

COCKTAIL HOUR

Taking place between the ceremony and the reception, the cocktail hour is actually a blessing for photographers like me, who love to take candid pictures of your guests.

Whether they are drinking champagne outside, standing on the lawn, or inside, sitting in a booth, I would capture a portrait of them laughing. It might also be a time to take more pictures with your parents.

×

RECEPTION & DINNER

After standing in the church aisle for your ceremony, the reception is probably the second most important moment of the day, and you want to be unique. To this end, you would probably work hard with your wedding coordinator and vendors to make it unique!

The wedding reception is the celebration of your relationship, of your engagement, and of your becoming husband and wife. For your families, the groomsmen, and the maid of honor, it’s also a moment to share their heartfelt speeches. And then it’s a time to get drunk and party!

×

THE FUNNY MOMENTS

This is a collection of funny moments. Pretty close to the candid collection, this distinguishes itself by the fact that the people photographed are actors (in a theatrical way) of the moment.

Here, people are aware that they are photographed, and they know they are making the moment fun for the wedding’s posterity.

×

KIDS

Kids are spontaneous creatures that wedding photographers love to chase, capturing unexpected and often funny moments (from adorable flower girls and ring bearers to mischievous behavior, scoldings, and more!

×

TEARS & EMOTIONS

Tears are probably the most difficult images for a wedding photographer to capture, necessitating experience, luck, and sometimes, magic. But they are worth it!

Between first looks, ceremonies, and toasts, check those happy tears on wedding days, and try not to cry.

×

THE WEDDING POST SESSION

Today, engagement sessions are completely integrated into wedding photographers’ packages, but the after-wedding session is still not.

Nevertheless, it becomes more and more popular, especially among couples who prefer to skip doing their bridal portraits on their special day. A post-wedding session doesn’t limit you to your location’s resources and allows you to have more room for inspiration to reflect your personality.

Some rare (French) photographers include a free afternoon session in their packages in case of bad weather…just saying.

×

THE COUPLE’S SESSION

We will laugh, you will relax, and have fun.
For sure, this is one of my favorite moments of the day, where I capture authentic laughs (unposed) and some formal, dramatic ones! The couple’s session could take place either before or after the ceremony.

It all depends on whether you want to discover each other before you walk down the aisle. In both cases, I would capture the groom’s reaction! I like the wide variety of options available, depending on the partners and the venue.

×

ARTISTIC AND CREATIVE

If those images represent only a small percentage of the entire reportage, they are often the ones photographers are most proud to exhibit. Those are usually staged portraits of the bride and the groom.

Creative images can be done during the preparation and in the evening. Most of the time, I use additional lights (such as flashes of color gel) in order to create a different atmosphere.
